SOP Allocate/Fulfill of Serialized Items

Hi,
I'm encountering a problem where all of my items that are serial tracked will freeze up GP when allocating and fulfilling the order prior to transferring to invoice.

We typically ship lot tracked items, but we have some that are serialized.  After troubleshooting one item that was reported as causing a problem, I did some testing and found that any of my serialized items freeze up GP.  And by freeze up, I mean that when you allocate/fulfill it takes about 5 solid minutes to bring up the serial selection window.  Even after selecting and saving the order, GP will freeze up again or crash completely.  My test cases had very few quantities on hand and thus only a few serials to choose from.   So it’s not like GP is crawling through tons of serials.   I even created a brand new serialized item from scratch (no inherited properties from the class) and got the same results as the others.

Back in December 2016 we implemented multi bin, but I’m not sure that’s a factor.  Other than that, there’s nothing out of the ordinary with my items.

Here’s my item configuration:

Sales Inventory

Fifo Periodic

Sales – Taxable

Tax Schedule ID (exists)

UofM Schedule – Each (nothing special here)

Purchase – Taxable

Tax Schedule ID (exists)

Costs populated

Serial Tracked

Allow Back Orders

No warranty

No ABC Code

History maintained for all

Price List Assigned and complete

Default Site set as our Warehouse

Item is a finished good/no BOM

In my test company, I manually updated IV00101 and set the item tracking option = 1 (none).  I was then able to allocate/fulfill without any issues.  So it seems like maybe something I looping when trying to find the serials.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do next?  Thanks.
