I got a call today from a client saying that MR was no longer functioning. When I got there the services were running and the databases were there. When I asked if anything had changed someone from IT chimed in that that had changed the password of the service account that was running the MR services. Now given the fact that the ManagementReporter database is encrypted I was able to do a fresh install of MR and created the databases anew. I then restored the ManagementReporter database just long enough to export to the tdbx. I then restored that database back to its new version and imported from that tdbx. All appears to be working now. Is this the only way to correct an issue like this? Was it the changing of the service account password that caused the problem?
